"Huy and I are proud to have been able to learn from Bob and continue his mission and values today," Riedel-Stone said in a statement.
This is an often talked about topic that has a rather polarized following. In terms of system filtration components that can sterilize water, the most common methods in our industry are UV and ozone. We have already covered UV and its complexities so this time we will cover ozone.
First, what is the difference between ozone and UV? Well, ozone is a nonselective oxidizer that breaks down anything that is organic by rupturing the cell wall. UV changes the DNA structure of the organism through irradiation. For UV to be effective, the UV light must penetrate the organism and cannot be shaded by particulates in the water flow. Ozone, on the other hand, can be effective even in less clear water.

Huy is the most honest and experienced Aquatics engineer I've ever met. I work at a fairly large public aquarium and Huy has always taken time to answer our questions and has helped us tremendously in the design and maintenance of our Life Support wing. His knowledge ranges from aquaculture, life support, to exhibit design, system troubleshooting and everything in between.
- Chris Okamoto - Aquarist at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium
Huy is a great resource in aquaponic systems. I have never had a question or problem he could not answer knowledgeably.
- Jeffery W. - NPD Engineer/Project Manager
