Oxygen or Ozone Skid

Speece cones are used to mix oxygen or ozone into an aquatic system’s process flow to support high density fish production or provide chemical disinfection, respectively. A centrifugal pump circulates water through the Speece cone. A mixture of water and gas (i.e. oxygen or ozone) is introduced into the cone via a venturi entering the top where it flows downward. As the water flows downward it continuously encounters the rising gas bubbles in a constant counter-current flow resulting in 90 – 95% gas absorption into the water. Generally, the cone operates at a maximum pressure of 10 psi - 15 psi with a maximum operational pressure not to exceed 20 psi. The supersaturated water exits the bottom of the cone and continues to the next component of the aquatic system.

Contact AED staff regarding customizable and scalable skid mounted solutions offering compact design, easy installation, and reliability. Flow meters and variable speed centrifugal pumps are recommended options to assist the operator with maintaining a desired flow rate in their freshwater or saltwater system. Skid units handling flow rates of 30 gpm to 600 gpm are available.
